What is Waterproof Membrane:
The waterproof material products made by impregnating asphalt or polymer waterproof materials on the carcass are provided in the form of membranes, which are called waterproof membranes. According to the different main components, it is divided into asphalt waterproof membranes, polymer modified asphalt waterproof membranes and synthetic polymer waterproof membranes; according to the different carcasses, it is divided into carcass-free membranes, paper tire membranes, glass fiber tire membranes, glass cloth tire membranes and polyethylene tire membranes.

Waterproof membranes require good water resistance, stability to temperature changes (no flow, no foaming, no confusion at high temperature; no brittleness at low temperature), certain mechanical strength, elongation and fracture resistance, and must have certain flexibility and aging resistance.
Waterproof membrane is a crimping sheet waterproof material. It is one of the most important varieties of waterproof materials for construction projects.
Performance of waterproof membrane:
1. Water resistance
Water resistance means that its performance is basically unchanged under the action of water and after being infiltrated by water, and it is impermeable under the action of pressure water, which is commonly expressed by indicators such as water impermeability and water absorption.
2. Temperature stability
Temperature stability refers to the performance of not flowing, foaming, sliding at high temperature, and not brittle at low temperature, that is, the ability to maintain the original performance under a certain temperature change. Commonly used indicators such as heat resistance and heat resistance.

3. Mechanical strength, elongation and fracture resistance
It refers to the properties of waterproof membranes that do not break under certain loads, stresses or under certain deformation conditions. Commonly used indicators such as tensile force, tensile strength and elongation at break.
4. Flexibility
Flexibility refers to the performance of maintaining flexibility under low temperature conditions. It is very important to ensure easy construction and no brittleness. Commonly used indicators such as flexibility and low temperature bending.
5. Atmospheric stability
Atmospheric stability refers to the ability to resist erosion under the long-term comprehensive action of sunlight, heat, ozone and other chemical erosion media. Commonly used indicators such as aging resistance and thermal aging retention rate.
Disadvantages of Waterproof Membrane
The waterproof membrane needs to be measured and cut according to the shape of the waterproof base layer. For the base layer with complex shape, multiple pieces need to be spliced, and it is difficult to bond the overlapping places of the waterproof membrane.
Complete and absolute sealing will become the main problem, with the greatest hidden danger of water leakage
The protection of waterproof membranes after construction and the maintenance after water leakage are also difficult problems. If there is any penetrating damage to any part, degumming or glue leakage (even if there is only one), the waterproof function of the entire coherent level will all decay. If the damaged and defective parts cannot be found, local repair is impossible, so only redo the waterproofing.
